If you have tables inside your book, it’s important to make sure they are formatted properly so they look good on EVERY Kindle device and app. I’ve seen lots of “crappy” looking tables that look good in Word but are all messed up on the Kindle.
I’ve even seen tables that look good on one Kindle device but look bad on another 🙁
But lucky for you, using the technique that I am going to show you will ensure that no matter what Kindle device or app that people are using to view your books, your tables will look perfect on ALL of them!
In terms of how to do this, the short version is to convert the table to an image. To see exactly how it’s done and see how it looks on an actual Kindle, take a look at our video below:
UPDATE: I’d like to add a suggestion that I received from one of our members (thank you Patricia!). Whether you are doing one table or many, it’s a great idea to add the original tables to a separate file in case you ever want to go back and edit/change something from within a table. This will make it quick and easy to do without having to re-build it and preserves your tables colors and formatting etc.
UPDATE 2: I’ve already received a couple questions about where you can purchase Snagit. I want to re-iterate first that this can be done with the FREE screen-capture tools that come with a Mac or PC, I just prefer to use Snagit because I can do so many things with it. For those that want to check it out, just search for “Techsmith Snagit” and you will find it.
