FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

We have the #1 Ebook Template For The Kindle on the Internet and lots of happy customers. We do get lots of pre-sale questions so I thought I would post some of the most common questions here along with the answers:

Q: Which Devices does your Kindle Template work with?

A: Our Kindle Ebook Template works perfectly with ALL Kindle Devices AND Apps. That means, whether someone is reading your book on an older Kindle device, the new Kindle Fire, the Kindle PC or Mac App, an iPad or other iOS device, or the Android Kindle App, your book will look, format, and work perfectly. It’s a huge benefit of our Template.

Q: Can your Ebook Template handle images?

A: Absolutely! We show you how to create the proper size cover image and also how to add images to your book (as many as you want) and format them so they are the perfect mixture of quality and file size for the Kindle.

Q: Does your Template work on the Mac?

A: Yes, we have had many Mac people purchase and successfully use our Template. We have PC’s and Mac’s here in the office for testing purposes.

Q: What other software do you need to make everything work?

A: All you need is our Kindle Template and Microsoft Word, absolutely nothing else!

Q: Can your ebook template create links that are clickable and a linked table of contents?

A: For sure! Many other templates and methods get this wrong but our Ebook Template can create fully clickable hyperlinks and a linked Table of Contents that links to each and every chapter.

Q: I LOVE your Template and would like to sell it. Do you have an Affiliate Program?

A: Not at this time. However…if you are a high quality affiliate, let us know and we might be able to work something out.

Q: Is your Template updated and current?

A: Absolutely. We always make sure that our Kindle Template is up to date and works with ALL Kindle Devices and Apps including new ones that come out.

Q: Do you have a Kindle Template that works with Open Office?

A: Yes! We had enough people request this over the past 18 months so we created a Kindle Template for Open Office. It has all of the same features as our Microsoft Word Kindle Template but works with Open Office which is free. You can see more here: Open Office Kindle Ebook Template

When I uploaded this as an RTF the table of contents did not work and none of the go to menu applications worked either.

      Cindy,
Something must have changed the settings of the file. If you email me the file, I can take a look and fix it for you. You can email it to: admin@ebooktemplates101.com – I will take a look at it today.

I’m not sure what you mean by “images.” I have a book which has hundreds of short stories, almost every story having one or more illustrations. Can your template handle such a task without any problem? Thanks.

    • Admin April 1, 2012 at 2:55 pm #

Yes, our Template can handle lots of images with no problems at all.

My book “169+ Lose It Or Else Acellerated Weight-Loss Facts, Tricks And More” has all the 169 weight-loss facts, tricks,… indexed in front of the book. Can your template LINK all these to their specific section in the book. I know you can link each of the chapters but how about linking the entire Index Table?

      Joseph,
Yes, you can set the clickable link anywhere…it does not have to be a chapter.

    Uploading to KDP shortly…
Before the final click to publish–can I make
revisions to the file in KDP?

    • Admin January 3, 2013 at 1:34 pm #

      Richard,
You can always make revisions to the file. If you actually upload and publish your book, you can re-upload a revised version and it usually shows up in a few days. Just make sure to save the .doc version of your file because that is what you would want to edit, not the .rtf

Let me know if this didn’t answer your question. Thanks!

        Great answer – big help.
        Thanks

If I have an image for my book cover, can that be used with this template?

    • Admin January 15, 2013 at 12:34 pm #

      Jennifer,
Yes, you can use that image inside your book with this Template. There is no cover page in the Template because last year, Amazon made changes and the book cover is no longer inside the book file itself, but gets uploaded separately in the publishing process. Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Have just uploaded this as an rtf file and found the TOC would not work with on the Kindle but was okay on Kindle Fire and the in the other versions. Is there something I have missed?

    • Admin February 10, 2013 at 5:02 pm #

      Deborah,
It should definitely work on everything. Are you only using the Preview Tool to test it? If so, it can sometimes show inaccurately. If you have a Kindle you can upload it to that to be sure. If not, you can send me your book file and I can load it on a Kindle and make sure the TOC is working. To send me the file, just open a ticket here: http://www.ebooktemplates101.com/helpdesk (and attach your .doc file).

Thank you – after reading about issues with the online viewer I went ahead and published it on Amazon. It is currently under review. If there is still a problem with it after it finishes the publishing process I will certainly send a copy of it to you for review. Thank you. 🙂

It I only plan to convert military pdf files to word and then format them with your template. If do not wish to publish to Amazon, can I still get them convert to kindle format for personal use?

    • Admin February 26, 2013 at 10:10 pm #

      John,
Great question. Yes, you could definitely use the Template that way. Instead of publishing your book on Amazon, you could just email your Kindle device a copy of the book and it works great.
