Bold, Underlining & Drop Caps On The Kindle

I just had to create this video because I have actually had some people challenge me and say that it’s not possible to have bold text, underlining, and drop caps on the Kindle and that is just NOT true! The problem is, many people are trying to use sub-par Templates or other methods of publishing to the Kindle and with those methods, you can’t get good formatting and things like bold text etc.

The good news is, if you have our Kindle Ebook Template, you can absolutely have bold text, crop caps, underlined text, and much more…and it looks perfect on the Kindle!

BUT don’t take my word for it…that is why I created this quick video so I can show you some video PROOF that it works. Take a look below.

Paul, I have another question about spacing between paragraphs on the Template. I have a book where some paragraphs need the ordinary spacing breaks provided by your template, and at other places where I want to have two space breaks between paragraphs. In other words, there are groups of paragraphs with ordinary spaces between them, and then I want to make a double space to block off a whole new section of new paragraphs within a chapter. Do I simply use a double Enter to make that extra space between the graphs? Have I explained that correctly?

You’ve got it right, just use a double space by hitting enter twice to create the extra space needed. It works great!

Um, “you can do…” Does that mean hit the bold key on the toolbar, or is there a style you invoked that you didn’t mention doing?

Great question Patricia. The Template is designed to allow you to just hit the bold key on the toolbar and it will show as bold on the Kindle. If you did this in Word but without the Template, it doesn’t always show up in bold but it’s 100% when using the Template.
